Happy Race #1 for us, and Happy Mother’s Day for all moms out there, here and above. 😊
It is great to have finally started, after planning this journey for almost 2 years. The day was a bit chilly and overcast.

Thank you to our family and friends for being a great cheering squad out on the bike course and at the finish line. A few folks asked about our jerseys and took pictures of our QR code on our hoodies. One woman said she’s been sharing our posts across her socials??
The course was the very pretty, but the hardest sprint triathlon we’ve ever done, and possibly the hardest of the 17 we’ll be doing.

The water was chilly – wetsuits mandatory. Not very many flat parts on the bike, and the run had a few ‘walk up’ hills. We were both glad when it was over, seeing our cheering squad at the finish line and having a big emotional hug at the end.

Now it’s time to refuel, relax, stretch, pack up and head on our way to the next race – North Vancouver Triathlon next Monday (May 19). One down, 16 to go!!
