We’re in the Yukon!!!
After the Saskatoon ALS walk and our triathlon, we headed to Edmonton Alberta on our way up north. We visited with Mike’s aunts, uncles and cousins in Clyde and Alberta
Beach. It was great to catch up with family.

Then, after a short dentist visit to learn that I’m stuck with my partial tooth till I get a new crown at home, we decided to head to the Yukon. Whoohoo!
Alaska Highway here we come!

We had 3 long days of driving but saw some amazing mountains….

Remnants of recent fire

And wildlife!! About 10 buffalo munching away on the grass beside the road, including a couple babies!

We saw a wolf (!!) trotting along the wide ditch, looking like she was trying to sniff out something. Unfortunately we passed to quickly to get a picture of her. Very cool!
Since we’ve been missing our hot tub from home, we made sure to stop at the Liard Hot Springs Provincial Park. Boy are we glad we did! It felt amazing!! The campsite is surrounded by barb wire topped fence to keep the animals out, but the boardwalk to the hot springs is unfenced, so we kept an eye for moose, bear, anything else that was big. But didn’t see anything.

On the final leg of the trip from Liard to Yellowknife a bear decided to cross the road mike was passing another vehicle...luckily Mike and the other driver saw it and had time to slow down.....but it might have stuck it's tongue out at us when it looked back from the shoulder of the road.
And now we’re at the next square of our daughter Sydney’s quilt she made us!
