It was a wet one on the North Shore

Race #2 done and dusted….well, more like done and waterlogged!

We’re staying at the Capilano River RV Park in West Vancouver and woke to pouring rain. Not unexpected, but certainly unwanted! We donned our racing gear with rain gear over top. This race is at a small community pool, so athletes had to wait outside until race time, so we knew we’d get wet.

And that we did! I think biking and running were wetter than swimming! 😊

But we had smiles on our faces and both of us felt great and had awesome races. I happily accepted 2nd place in my age group as I was able to proudly promote Tri’ing by wearing my sweatshirt. We also gave a short speech about Tri’ing and afterwards, a woman came up to us – she is a nurse and a triathlete, and had seen our story on GlobalBC. She was very appreciative of our journey.

Thanks to Peter, Race Director for North Shore Triathlon, for his support, and to fellow racers for donating over $600 to Tri’ing. And thanks to Dave and Diane for coming out and snapping a few pics!
