Tri'ing to End ALS

Donna Bartel and her husband Mike Pearson are on a journey

“Tri’ing to End ALS”.

Their journey started in 2010 when Donna did Ironman Canada to raise funds under the  “Tri’ing” banner. The journey continued in 2012 with another Ironman. That winter Donna had the crazy idea of “Tri’ing”  triathlons across the country……

In 2023 Mike rekindled the idea and mapped out a route that would include a  triathlon in every province and territory.  In 2024 planning started in earnest.

They started their journey on May 5 , 2025.  In 2025 they drove 31,000 kilometers, flew 6,000 and did a triathlon in every province in territory, 18 triathlons in 19 weeks.

The 2025 journey ended back in Vernon September 16 but the “Tri’ing to End ALS” journey will continue.
